Having the need, or rather not the need but nagging feeling of obligation, to send out a Thank You card. However, this thank you is not for one of my gal pals or grandparents, but a male friend. I don't feel my stack of flowery Thank You notes is appropriate, so I've turned to Etsy to research some alternatives.

Such a great pin cushion featured in, and designed by, Anna Maria Horner. Another reason I want her pattern book, Seams To Me.

DECOR - wood / concrete dining table
Dining table which combines reclaimed wood and concrete, by Barefoot Design, in the Smart Home exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago.
"Wood is celebrated throughout the interior design, in the furnishings as well as decorative pieces such as thetwig chandeliers and a driftwood candelabra. Several pieces were designed especially for the Smart Home from reclaimed wood which was rescued after a very old bur oak tree located on the museum grounds fell during a storm last year. The side table stumps, dining table and headboard all use wood from this tree, which we found to be very much in keeping with the ideals and aesthetics of the Smart Home design."

PROJECT - merrimeko tapestry
Around my birthday I posted a WISH LIST of wall decor items, one being this Merrimeko tapestry, TULIP. Although it would pop more against a darker wall, I am very happy with it above the fireplace.
Images below show how to use canvas stretchers for fabric wall hangings.
Tools: canvas stretchers, staple gun, wire and wire cutters.
